A Deadly Weekend For Traffic Accidents In Volusia

Volusia County, FL-FHP says two separate single vehicle accidents Saturday night killed three.

FHP says two people died in a single vehicle accident on Reed Ellis Road Saturday night. The driver is identified as 52-year-old Willam Pell of Osteen. The passenger is identified as 32-year-old Tiffany Sams of Geneva.

The report says the 2006 Nissan was traveling westbound around 10pm when for an unknown reason the vehicle left the roadway, hit and tree and overturned.

Both driver and passenger were ejected. Neither were wearing seatbelts.

In a separate incident, 32-year-old Megan Kirk, ¬†of Edgewater, died in an accident on Old Mission Road. The driver survived. He’s identified as 33-year-old Kyle Draper and was wearing a seatbelt. Kirk was not.

Troopers say the 2002 Ford SUV Draper was driving left the roadway for an unknown reason, the driver overcorrected and the vehicle overturned. The female was ejected.

That accident happened around 9:40pm.

Both accidents remain under investigation.

Earlier in the day, a man died when his RV wrecked after a tire blew on I-95 in Port Orange.
