DeBary, FL - An early morning motor home fire claims the lives of two people.

Volusia deputies and firefighters responded to the fire at the Highbanks Marina & Camp Resort off of Highbanks Road just after four o'clock this morning (February 24th).

Two people were found inside the motorhome and were transported to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The deceased have been identified as 72-year-old Allan Gower and 69-year-old Teresa Gower. VSO says that they're both Kentucky residents who often spend the winter months at the motor home in DeBary. Mr. Gower was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford and Mrs. Gower was transported to AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City.

The fire is still under investigation, but initial observations at the scene suggest multiple space heaters, extension cords and power strips were in use, and that a space heater ignited the fire near the only exit.
