One victim was shot in what the Volusia Sheriff's Office is describing as an attempted murder-suicide, the agency announced on Saturday. Details about the shooting are still scarce, but the man believed to be the shooter has been confirmed dead.

The incident took place on Carol Ann Drive in Edgewater at around 12:17 am Saturday morning. According to law enforcement, a husband and wife had gotten into an argument. The husband is said to have pulled a gun on the wife and shot her. He then turned the gun on himself and took his own life.

The VSO confirmed over the weekend that the wife was in stable condition as she was being treated for her gunshot wound. No identities have been released of either the suspected shooter or the victim. The VSO also stated that there is no known history of domestic violence between the couple prior to the scary incident on Saturday.

Though the shooting was non-fatal to the wife, the VSO is describing the incident as an attempted murder-suicide. Further details on the shooting are expected to be made known as the agency's investigation continues.
