Palm Coast, FL - Deputies put an end to a string of car burglaries after they arrest the 16-year-old suspect responsible.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office stated in a release that they were first tipped off about a suspect named "Cody," who an anonymous tipster claimed was the perpetrator behind a series of car burglaries in the Seminole Woods neighborhood of Palm Coast.

The tip from the anonymous source also claimed that the suspect was living with Trey Colbourne, a teenager recently jailed following a search warrant execution on their Seven Wonders Trail home back in May.

According to FCSO, Colbourne is currently on felony juvenile probation and is court-ordered to wear an ankle monitoring device.

Investigators soon met up with Colbourne and his mother to discuss the tip they were given about the car burglaries. However, the conversation was interrupted once investigators heard another detective yelling commands and an unknown subject behind the house.

Deputies then went around to the back of the home and found a male trying to flee from law enforcement. That male was later identified as 16-year-old Dakota DeAngelo Durrani, who was later determined to be the burglary suspect thanks to a photo provided by the anonymous tipster.

After Durrani was handcuffed, he admitted to having narcotics on his person. Investigators then found pills and marijuana.

The conversation deputies had with Durrani after his arrest revealed that he is responsible for 30 to 50 burglaries and four weapons that were also stolen. Durrani told investigators that he had already sold one of the stolen firearms to a man in Daytona Beach for $200. As for the others, they were hidden.

Soon after the conversation began, Durrani led investigators to a trail behind the house and showed them a hidden shoebox. The box contained two of the stolen firearms, a holster, magazines and ammunition in a plastic bag. A baggie with marijuana and a bicycle that Durrani had stolen was also found near the box.

Durrani also revealed that he threw the other firearm into the woods when he was pursued by authorities. As of today, FCSO has not found the other weapon.

He was later charged with armed burglary, four counts of grand theft, eleven counts of burglary of a conveyance, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a minor. Durrani also received two additional possession charges for the marijuana and oxycodone that was found on his person.

Durrani was booked into the Flagler County Jail before he was turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Daytona Beach.
