Daytona Beach, FL -  One young man is dead and the one who shot him will spend the next 30 years in prison.  The shooter, 20-year-old Keyonte Upton of South Daytona, shot 19-year-old Janaree Williams after an argument over a drug deal in June of 2016.

Upton pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and numerous other charges: shooting into an occupied vehicle, armed burglary of a conveyance, two counts of aggravated assault, attempted armed robbery, armed robbery, being a felon in possession of a firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.  While Upton was sentenced to do time on each of the charges, the judge ordered them to run concurrently with the 30-year sentence for second-degree murder.

The police report shows that Williams and two other people met with Upton to buy marijuana. Upton got into the car driven by Williams. After their disagreement, Upton stepped out of the car and shot into it.  Upton ran from the vehicle, Williams tried to follow but lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. Williams got out of the car and ran after Upton. Upton turned around and shot Williams.
