Port Orange, FL - Four teenagers are facing a handful of charges after the group was caught trying to rob an apartment in Port Orange.

Police say the group, which consisted of 16-year-old Amarion Franklin, 14-year-old Tyquavion Ramsey and 13-year-olds Michael Debose and Darren Brown, were arrested after trying to break into a Floral Springs Boulevard apartment just before 2:00 in the afternoon on Tuesday (September 29th).

Officers also report that Franklin was able to gain entry into the apartment, all while he was armed with a stolen 9mm handgun. The victims, however, were able to disarm and detain Franklin until officers arrived. 

Neighbors also called 911 after hearing a commotion in the apartment.

While Franklin was captured, the rest of the teens attempted to flee from the apartment complex in an SUV. But, they were soon captured by the officers at the entrance of the complex.

All four teens were charged in relation to the attempted armed home invasion robbery, with additional charges spread out amongst the group. Franklin was given additional charges in relation to the stolen weapon while Debose was additionally charged with fleeing and eluding without a license.

Franklin and Brown were also on felony probation prior to this incident. All four were later transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Daytona Beach.
