89-Year-Old Orange City Man Struck & Killed By Vehicle

Orange City, FL - Orange City police say an 89-year-old man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle early Friday morning (May 7).

The Orange City Police Department (OCPD) says they were called out to the 600 block of Veteran's Memorial Parkway around 4:00 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle vs. pedestrian incident that had taken place in the area. That block of Veteran's Memorial Parkway was also shut down as officers investigated the incident.

The victim, who has been identified as Armando Brazzoni of Orange City, was transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital in Sanford where he was later pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle was uninjured.

According to an email from OCPD, an autopsy for Brazzoni is scheduled for later today in Lake County. The circumstances as to what led up to the fatal incident is not available at this time. Police have confirmed that the investigation is ongoing but have not stated whether or not charges are pending.
