Deltona, FL - Volusia County deputies are looking for another suspect they believe is involved in the robbery of a 16-year-old Deltona High School student.

Yesterday (September 9th), the Volusia County Sheriff's Office made contact with the 16-year-old victim. The victim told investigators that he made contact with a former classmate, 16-year-old Tristan Daniels, on Instagram over the weekend in reference to the purchase of a pair of Airpods for $200.

According to VCSO, during the conversation, Daniels told the victim that he would sell them for just $120. They ended up meeting around 8:30 on Sunday night (September 8th) at an address off of Lehigh Drive.

The victim explained that once he arrived, he saw Daniels and another unknown black male juvenile, who was wearing dark clothing. Daniels then asked the victim if he had the money and the victim asked if he had the Airpods.

That's when, according to the victim, the unknown black male reached into his pocket an pulled out a pair of regular Apple iPhone headphones, at which time he told Daniels they weren't Airpods.

Shortly after, the black male said "yes they are" and grabbed the victim by the front of his shirt before slamming him to the ground. The victim said he didn't fight back because he was in fear for his safety.

At that point, the male began to rummage through the victim's pockets, taking his wallet which contained $200 and his driver's license. The male then supposedly grabbed the victim's phone and threw it down the street, before taking off with Daniels on foot. The victim said that his phone wasn't damaged, thanks to its case.

The report also says that deputies were able to retrieve images of the messages between Daniels and the victim on Instagram. The victim completed a sworn statement and said he wishes to pursue charges against Daniels.

Not long after, VCSO made contact with Daniels at his residence, where he was taken into custody, charged with robbery of sudden snatching, unlawful use of a two-way communications device, and petty theft. He was transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Deputies were unable to identify the other black male involved in the case. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
