Daytona Beach, FL - An Alabama man is dead and a Daytona Beach woman suffers minor injuries following an early morning crash on International Speedway Boulevard (ISB).

Officers with the Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) were called to the intersection of ISB and Bill France Boulevard near the Daytona International Speedway after a call for help came in around 5:00 a.m. on Saturday (June 19).

According to police, a 31-year-old Alabama man piloting a black Harley-Davidson motorcycle was headed westbound on ISB when he ran a red light at the Bill France intersection. As the bike entered the intersection, the Alabama man struck the rear driver's side of a red Chevrolet Camaro making an eastbound turn from the southbound side of Bill France. Investigators believe the Camaro had the green light as it's driver, a 66-year-old Daytona Beach man, drove into the intersection.

The impact from the crash ejected the rider off of the bike and spun the Camaro almost 180 degrees. The motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. While the driver of the Camaro reported no injuries, his passenger, a 63-year-old Daytona Beach woman, reported minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

No charges are pending in this case. Investigators are also waiting on an autopsy to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this case.
