Holly Hill, FL - The Daytona Beach Police Department reports that 34-year-old Anthony Burgess, the suspect in an armed robbery against two elderly women, is now in the Volusia County Jail. Burgess was captured by the U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force in an apartment at the Hollypoint Apartments on Monday, December 9.

They found Burgess in Apartment 105. They say he was listening to a scanner app on his cell phone and that he was using it to avoid capture. The charge for using a scanner app is the use of a 2-way communication device to commit a felony.

DBPD has been looking for Burgess since October 23, when a warrant was issued for his arrest in connection to the robbery of the women, ages 61 and 90, in the driveway of their beachside home.

Burgess is being held on no bond for charges of robbery with a firearm, home invasion robbery with a deadly weapon and kidnap or inflict bodily harm to terrorize a victim.
