Burglary At Brown & Brown Insurance Site Under Investigation

Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police detectives are investigating the theft of about $12,000 worth of high-end surveying equipment and power tools. They say it happened at the Brown & Brown Insurance construction site on  North Beach Street, between 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 25 and 5:40 a.m. Monday.

The Project Manager arrived at the site at about 5:40 a.m. to find that the gate on Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard had been tampered with. He stated that the chain link was cut and the gates were open. 

The next person  arrived on scene at 6:30 a.m. He reported that the lock to the office had been cut off. When he went in, paper was strewn  all over, files had been pulled out of cabinets and multiple charging stations and equipment were missing.  He also found that a forklift had been tampered with and sustained  damage. The estimated cost for damages and stolen items is about $5,500.

Other workers came into work to find power tools stolen, valued at about $6,200 and other equipment damaged.
