Daytona Beach, FL - Just before Memorial Day weekend, some cities move to reopen their parks, while some additionally open their public pools.
The City of Daytona Beach announced that their parks will actually open today (May 22nd), while a handful of other cities plan to open theirs tomorrow instead.
In Daytona Beach, restrooms, walking trails, basketball courts and other outdoor amenities are reopened at most of the city's parks. However, community centers, gyms and splash pads remained closed for the time being.
And despite splash pads remaining closed, public pools were said to also be reopening, with a couple of minor exceptions. Yes, swimming is allowed but all visitors will have their temperatures checked before they are granted access to the facility. Additionally, social distancing guidelines are still in place, along with occupancy restrictions. Cypress Aquatic Center is limited to 50 people and Campbell Aquatic Center is limited to 25 people.
Edgewater and Ormond Beach on the other hand will open their parks along with splash pads, unlike Daytona Beach. Their parks will also open beginning tomorrow, instead of today.
