Bunnell, FL - If you have any outstanding fines or fees in Flagler County, you now have a chance to pay it off with at least a 40% discount.

But don't wait, you have two weeks to claim this rather interesting deal.

The Flagler County Clerk of Court's office said this special program is known as "Operation Green Light," which is scheduled to run between November 9th and November 20th. According to Court Clerk and Comptroller Tom Bexley, the program is to help residents who have tickets, fines or fees that might be in collection.

“This may allow some to restore their suspended driving privileges once the outstanding fines and late fees are paid," said Bexley.

Late fees will not be waived, but anyone paying off their ticket or fee within this time period will be able to spare the costs of collections surcharges.

“These charges can be considerable,” Bexley said. “It can be as much as $80 on a $200 speeding ticket for going 10 to 15 mph over the speed limit.”

Residents can participate in Operation Green Light between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday on the first floor of the Kim C. Hammond Justice Center at the Central Receipting Office.

The office will also stay open until 6 p.m. on November 10th and November 19th to accommodate anyone who cannot make it during normal business hours. The office will remain closed for Veterans Day, November 11th.

If you're uncertain about whether or not you owe money to the county, you can search your name on the Clerk of Court's website. Payments may be made in cash, check, money order or a major credit card. Third-party checks are not accepted, but residents may also pay over the phone or online.

Residents should also note that suspended driving privileges will not be restored to those who have over tickets in another county, an expired driver's license or any other misdemeanors that make them ineligible.
