Florida - The Coast Guard rescued and transported a pregnant manatee
with the help of multiple animal rescue teams and took her to Sea World in Orlando, Fl..  She was transported Tues from Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut to her new home at Sea World.  The Staff of International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) saved the manatee Sept 22 from the waters off Falmouth and transported her to the Aquarium.  The manatee arrived in Florida aboard a Coast Guard Air Station Cape Cod HC-144 aircraft.
Lt. Daniel Cloonan, one of the pilots from Air Station Cap Cod who flew the manatee in said, "it was a unique mission where all the moving parts and joint collaborations came together tremendously and it was a pleasure working with the U.S. Fish and Wild Life Service, Mystic Aquarium,  IFAW and Sea World ."
The manatee was named Washburn, after the island she was rescued on and she will be given round the clock care until she is ready to be released back into her natural Florida habitat.
