Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach Fire Department battles a kitchen fire that managed not to spread to the rest of the building, thanks to their efforts.

Tips came into News Daytona Beach around 3:30 reporting that crews were at the scene off of South Atlantic Avenue battling a fire at a two-story building. Shortly thereafter, Volusia County Dispatch confirmed that the crews were still battling the blaze at an assisted living facility.

After crews extinguished the flames, the Daytona Beach Fire Department reported that they were able to prevent the fire from spreading to the second floor of the building.

Sasha Staton, community relations with DBFD, said that no injuries were reported and no residents were displaced, as the fire did not affect any bedrooms in the building. Residents were also evacuated from the building shortly after the fire started. The kitchen, however, did sustain a significant amount of damage.
