Daytona Enacting Curfew

Daytona Beach, FL - The World's Most Famous Beach now becomes the first city in Volusia enacting a curfew for COVID-19.

Last night (March 31st), Daytona Beach city leaders announced that they are extending the local emergency declaration. Along with that, the city will launch a curfew that runs between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., beginning tomorrow (April 2nd).

The Daytona Beach City Commission also ordered all non-essential businesses to close. From the Executive Order: SECTION 1. All community pools, bingo halls, card rooms, community meeting
facilities (excluding, however, houses of worship implementing social distancing as recommended
by the CDC), and all group sporting, practice, and exercise venues involving close physical contact
or sharing of equipment among participants, regardless of whether such facilities are on public or private property, are hereby ordered to be closed from public access. 

Exceptions will be made for emergency workers, physicians and utility workers. Exceptions will also be made for delivery drivers, inlcluding services like Amazon, Door Dash, Postmates, GrubHub etc.

City leaders expect the curfew to be in effect until midnight next Wednesday (April 8th).
