Daytona Beach, FL - Officers are searching for suspects they believe are connected to a shooting off of Lewis Drive.

That shooting occurred on Tuesday (October 29th) around 4 p.m. According to police, the victim was standing outside of a residence on Lewis when a black Kia SUV, bearing a Florida tag said to begin with JH, occupied by three unknown black males pulled up.

The victim told police that two of the males exited the vehicle with handguns. One of those males went up to the victim and hit him in the face with a handgun.

After being attacked, the victim began to flee from his attacker and ran towards a blue Nissan rouge parked in the driveway of another nearby residence. The witness reports that one or all of the unknown males shot at him while he ran.

The suspects then got back into the SUV and fled northbound up Lewis Drive, before returning Southbound and onto Mason Avenue.

A witness doing yard work at a nearby house was interviewed and provided a story similar to the victim's. He said that he did not know the males, but he would be able to identify them if he saw them again.

Messod Bendayan, Public Information Officer with the Daytona Beach Police Department, says that police were able to obtain a still photograph of one of the suspects from a nearby house.

If anyone has any information regarding the shooting they're asked to contact Detective Michael Jaeger at (386) 671-5245 or JaegerMichael@dbpd.us regarding Case 190021612.
