Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach City Commission members get started with 2020 business at tonight's meeting. A big expenditure on the agenda is the purchase of new vehicles for the Police Department.

Commissioners are expected to give approval for the purchase of 18 vehicles for a little over $800-thousand dollars. The vehicles are for new Code Enforcement Officers, new Police Officer hires and for the Criminal Investigation Department.

The 15 vehicles to be purchased for the new hires is due to the growth on the west side of the City. Police Impact Fees Funds will cover about $490-thousand dollars of the expense.

Also on tonight's agenda is the approval of a contract for a bit over $1 million dollars for the Main Street Pier Project and a $398-thousand dollar contract for the Bethune Point Shoreline Stabilization project.
