DBPD Asks For Help Solving Murder Of Elderly Man

Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police investigators are asking for your help in finding the suspect or suspects in the murder of 66-year-old Charles H. Brown and the battery of a 68-year-old woman who was found inside his home on June 2, 2020.

Police officers found Brown unresponsive on a couch at his residence located at 645 Westmoreland Road around 4 a.m. just minutes after the 9-1-1 calls. He was transported to Halifax Health Medical Center where he was pronounced dead about two hours later.

Officers also found a 68-year-old woman who lived in the home with injuries to her face. she was taken to the hospital and is recovering from her injuries.

The police report states that there were ten other people living in Brown's home. All of them told officers that they were sleeping and did not witness any persons or vehicles in the area.

DBPD says at this time, no motive has been established and no suspects have been identified. Because this is an active investigation, the type of injury and whether anything was stolen, has not been released.
