DBPD Holds Naming Contest For New Patrol Boat

Posted

Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach Police Department got a new patrol boat about two weeks ago. Now they are looking for a name for the vessel.

The person with the winning entry can bring a friend along for a free ride on the Halifax River in the patrol boat with the Marine Unit.

The deadline to enter the name you'd like is June 15. After the deadline, a small committee of city employees will go through all the names and select five finalists. The public will get to choose from the five finalists in a poll that will be set up on the Facebook page.  The winner of the poll is the new name of the patrol boat.

The place to make your entry is the DBPD Facebook page.

DBPD says you should feel free to comment on names suggested by liking them on the Facebook page.
