DBPD Investigating Early Morning Shooting

UPDATE: (January 2) - The victim is being identified as 21-year-old Anton Thompson. DBPD says this is an active investigation. They are not releasing any other information at this time.

Daytona Beach, FL - The Daytona Beach Police Department is asking for the publics' help in identifying a man found shot in a wooded area in the 1200 block of Wesley Street off LPGA Boulevard. The  victim is a black man in his 20’s. He stands around 5’8 to 5’10 and weighs around 175 pounds. He also has a tattoo on his chest with the name "Briana."

Police responded to the area around 2:40 a.m. today (December 30) after receiving a 911 call. The caller claimed he found the victim in the woods. Paramedics rushed the victim to the hospital. 

Due to the nature of the man's injuries, investigators have not been able to speak with him or identify him.  If you think you know who the victim may be or if you have any information on the shooting, please contact the DBPD front desk at 386-671-5447.
