Daytona Beach, FL - The death of a 37-year-old man while trying to cross Nova Road is under investigation. Daytona Beach Police say it appears that the victim was crossing from east to west near Beville Road just before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday (December 19). The victim is not being identified pending next of kin notification.
The victim was hit by the front passenger side of an SUV traveling northbound on Nova Road in the left lane. Investigators say the impact sent the victim into the southbound lanes of Nova Road where he was struck by a pickup truck. Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
No injuries were reported by the 52-year-old driver of the SUV, his passengers or the 47-year-old driver of the pickup truck. Both vehicles were still in drivable condition.
There are no charges pending at this time.
