DBPD Looks For Suspect In Boys And Girls Club Burglary

Daytona Beach, FL - Daytona Beach Police say someone stole over $900 worth of electronics from the Boys & Girls Club at the John H. Dickerson Center earlier this week.

The Boys & Girls Club unit director found the items missing yesterday (January 9) when she opened the office. She told officers that she left Wednesday (January 8) at about 7:10 p.m. and that the door locks automatically upon closing.  When she found the items missing, she checked the video surveillance and saw someone wearing a hoodie and long pants approach the door at 7:20 p.m. That person stood at the door for about ten minutes. Police say they think he was trying to pry open the door during that time.

The suspect walked away and came back about ten minutes later and was out of view until about 7:45 p.m. coming out the door and carrying two blue bags. The video shows the person walking west away from the building towards Henry Butts Drive.

The items missing include a Playstation 4 with three controllers and two charging stations, an Xbox One S, with two controllers and one charging station, and a Wii, with three controllers and two charging stations.

Investigators found four latent prints on the entry door. Those and the video surveillance have been submitted into evidence.

The only picture available right now shows what looks like a man with a slender build. He's wearing a gray hoodie and sweatpants.

Anyone with information on the theft or the suspect should contact the Daytona Beach Police Department.
