DBPD Traffic Flow Plan For Daytona Stadium COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution

Daytona Beach, FL - The Florida Department of Health-Volusia will begin vaccinating people over the age of 65 tomorrow (January 4) at Daytona Stadium. The COVID-19 vaccine distribution is first-come, first-served, leading the Daytona Beach Police Department to create a traffic flow plan

The map is set up for people 65 and older to enter Daytona Stadium from the north entrance. There will be electronic message boards strategically placed along LPGA Blvd., alerting and directing motorists on where to go. Queuing for the vaccination will begin in the first parking lot on your right after entering the stadium.

The gates are scheduled to open at around 7 a.m. DBPD says the stadium's 64-acre site is more than big enough to accomodate the expected number of vehicles. Vaccinations should begin at 9 a.m.

FDOH-Volusia will administer 1,000 doses of the vaccine each day, tomorrow, January 4th, and Tuesday, January 5th. Personnel will be stationed at the north entrance to keep count of the number of people accessing the facility. When the number for the day has been reached, the gates will be closed and the message boards’ announcements will reflect the closure for people who aren’t inside the facility.

Restrooms on the north side of the stadium will be available for use and two handicapped porta potties will be onsite.

According to FDOH-Volusia, "There will be additional public vaccination sites across Volusia County as more vaccines become available over the days and weeks ahead. Sites will rotate through areas on both sides of Volusia County to improve access for everyone."
