Daytona Beach, FL - A woman is back in jail after officers of the Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) discover she has been selling drugs out of her home—and it isn't the first time she's been in trouble for the exact same thing.

Investigators say 45-year-old Kelly Cooke's arrest came after the DBPD received numerous tips that she was using her North Street apartment for drug dealing again. This led officers to obtain a search warrant for the home; something they had already done back in May, according to DBPD Captain Scott Lee.

“Our Special Investigations Unit entered her apartment last May and found a drug distribution operation inside along with over 2 grams of crack cocaine and over $2,000 in cash,” Lee noted. “Clearly, she hasn’t learned her lesson because we found her doing the same thing again. Maybe now it’ll sink in.”

The search warrant was executed during a raid on Tuesday morning (August 31) where members of the Problem Oriented Policing (POP) unit found half a gram of fentanyl hidden inside a clear container in the living room along with a glass smoking device and a digital scale similar to those used by drug dealers to weigh their product.

Cooke has since been charged with two felony counts of keeping a public nuisance structure for drug activity and possession of fentanyl, and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Because Cooke is already out on probation for her arrest in May, she remains in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond.

Police additionally noted in a release that this is Cooke's third overall arrest this year by the DBPD. Just a week prior to her arrest in August, Cooke was jailed for a misdemeanor battery charge related to a domestic violence case. She was released within 24 hours.
