Palm Coast, FL - Firefighters battling a blaze call law enforcement after they happened upon a dead male in the woods.
Crews were called to the fire on Saturday (February 22nd) behind the Palm Coast Superwash car wash off of Cypress Point Parkway.
While extinguishing the fire, one firefighter observed a male laying behind a tent, face down hunched in the fetal position over a fallen tree. He was pronounced dead close to 9:00 that night.
When the Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrived, deputies met with a firefighter who said they saw someone leaving the area on a bike. Additionally, deputies say that a caller who noticed the fire also saw someone leaving the area on a bike.
That man told dispatch that he saw the man exiting the woods and asked what happened. The man said he didn't know and pedaled away. Deputies later found that man sitting in front of the business and made contact with him.
FCSO says that the investigation is still active and ongoing, no other information is available yet.
