DeLand Men Sentenced For Killing Two Men

DeLand, FL - Two DeLand men, 22-year-old Charlie Martin IV and 25-year-old Jevon Dennis will be spending the next 15 years in prison for killing 27-year-old Clayton Lowery and 41-year-old Victor Small after a minor traffic mishap.

Both Martin and Dennis each have 901 days of time served. They must serve ten years of their sentences before there's any possibility of gain time, which could decrease their sentences.  The pair will each serve four years of probation when they get out of prison.

The investigation shows that on November 26, 2016, near a large house party in the Candlelight Oaks neighborhood, an argument happened when someone backed up and hit Lowery's vehicle. There was gunfire.  Lowery had been shot seven times, six times in the back and once on one of his hands. Small, a bystander and not involved, was shot once — a fatal shot to the back.  One person was also injured and another shot at but not wounded.
