DeLand PD Investigating Another Shooting

DeLand, FL - Reports of gunshots near Candlelight Oaks Park Saturday night led DeLand Police (DPD) investigators to a gunshot victim.  DPD responded to the 800 block of Valleydale Avenue around 9:15 p.m. They found several spent handgun shell casings in the roadway.

They did not find a victim in the area. Area hospitals were alerted to be looking for gunshot victims.  AdventHealth DeLand reported that a 22-year-old man was in their ER with a gunshot wound to the neck.  He was brought to the hospital by a friend.

This isn't the first shooting in DeLand this year.

On September 30, two vehicles and the people in them exchanged gunfire at several locations in the north DeLand area.

DeLand PD Looking For Drive-By Shooters

 A 62-year-old DeLand woman was shot in the abdomen in the Spring Hill area of DeLand on April 26. They believe it was a targeted attack given that there were multiple shots fired at the victim's vehicle.
