DeLand, FL - The Bridge, a DeLand crisis shelter and day services shelter, is expected to open soon. When it does, volunteers will be needed.
A volunteer orientation is scheduled for this Thursday, January 30 at 7 p.m. It takes place in the sanctuary at First Christian Church located at 1401 West New York Avenue. Staff will go over the needs and responsibilities of volunteers.
The Bridge will have 30 crisis center beds. Medical care and a variety of counseling will be offered. The goal is to transition people to housing within 30 to 90 days.
