Daytona Beach, FL - The State Attorney's Office, 7th Judicial District says a Deltona man charged with two charges of Animal Cruelty - one for killing a family dog and the second for beating the other family dog, is tentatively set to take a plea on Thursday (January 21) afternoon. At the time of his arrest, then 18-year-old Austin Ilardo told Volusia Sheriff's deputies that "I've had desires to hurt them both multiple times and I acted on them tonight."
Based on evidence at the crime scene and statements from Ilardo, it was determined that "he intentionally killed the white toy poodle, and abused the other family dog, a Boston Terrier."
The open plea takes place in front of Judge Clayton. Ilardo has no criminal history.
