Deltona Water Audit Presentation Tonight

Posted

Deltona, FL - The Deltona City Commission will hear a presentation on the results of an audit run on Deltona Water by KPMG Audit Services at their regular meeting this evening.

A member of the Citizens Water Committee, Dana McCool, said that KPMG did an excellent job of the scope that we asked them to look at.

She said the Committee, for the most part, is satisfied with the recommendations made about water quality and with the Public Works Director’s corrections made to the audit. "I would hope that the city would follow the recommendations of John Peters to do what they asked to do along with KPGM recommendations. With it being a high profile, resident-driven issue, the residents agree with it and so does Peters." She said she doesn't see any reason that interim City Manager, Dr. Marc-Antonie Cooper, would not follow Peters's recommendations.

McCool said that Peters has tweaked some of KPGM’s recommendations and made them better. "The Water Department already has a couple of pieces of equipment that will help log date on a meter so he has proactively done that."

Tonight’s meeting begins at 6:30 p.m.
