Palm Coast, FL - Deputies pull over a Palm Coast man after learning his license was suspended, but ended up finding a handgun, a bottle of prescription codeine, and nearly 3 pounds of marijuana.

A report from the Flagler County Sheriff's Office says deputies pulled over 23-year-old Michael Lee late Tuesday (July 13) night after FCSO's Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) notified law enforcement about his license suspension.

Body camera video of Lee's traffic stop shows Lee didn't understand why he was pulled over. After explaining the situation, the deputy asked Lee if there were weapons in the vehicle, to which Lee replied no. After catching a strong odor of marijuana, the deputy asked Lee if there was any in the car and how much, Lee responded "a little bit" and handed the deputy a small baggie of marijuana.

A search of Lee's vehicle eventually uncovered several colorful sealed bags reading "cannabis flower," and a firearm wedged between the driver's seat and the center console of the vehicle.

"My man, come on. I asked you if there were any firearms in the car," said the deputy on camera. "That's a huge safety thing for me."

Deputies also discovered a brown prescription bottle filled with codeine cough syrup. The name on the bottle was almost completely scratched off, but the last character was visible on the bottle and was not consistent with the name "Lee."

In the rear of the vehicle, FCSO found a black Louis Vuitton duffle bag containing multiple large-sized packages of Marijuana. According to deputies, the total weight of the packages were 1302 grams, or roughly 2.87 pounds. A search of Lee's person also yielded $2,100 in cash, split into multiple denominations.

Lee was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance without prescription, manufacture and delivery drug paraphernalia, and carrying a concealed firearm. Lee was booked into the Flagler County Jail and was released on a $9,000 bond.
