DOH: 10 Million Vaccinated In Florida

Almost 235k in Volusia; over 56k in Flagler

Daytona Beach, FL - Florida passes another vaccine milestone as 10 million individuals have now received a COVID-19 vaccine in the state.

The total as of Sunday (May 23)—according to a recent report from the Florida Department of Health (DOH)—is 10,005,987. Out of those 10 million plus people, 7,965,477 have finished their vaccine series while 2,040,510 have received their first dose.

According to the DOH's report, of the 7.9 million people that have completed their vaccine series, 743,001 have taken the one-shot Johnson & Johnson/Janssen (J&J) while the remaining 7,222,476 finished the two-shot Pfizer or Moderna vaccine series.

The same report from the DOH also found that 59,838 minors between the ages of 12 and 14 have received their first shot of the Pfizer vaccine. None of those teens have yet to receive their second shot as the vaccine was only authorized for use in adolescents two weeks ago.

Seniors between the ages of 65 and 74 remain the most vaccinated group in the state with 2,161,455. Overall, 3,809,495 seniors over the age of 65 have received a vaccine, while 3,248,911 of those seniors have finished their series, or received the one-shot J&J vaccine.

In total, 17,228,463 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the state.

Locally, 234,922 have been vaccinated in Volusia County, with 192,061 individuals having completed their vaccine series. In Flagler, 56,786 people have been vaccinated while 47,887 have finished their series.
