Ormond -by-the-Sea, FL - A 15-year-old girl is dead after being hit by a vehicle on Ocean Shore Boulevard near Buttenheim Drive. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says the accident happened around 6:45 p.m. today (Feb. 16).
The driver of a 2000 Mercury Marquis, a 61-year-old Ormond Beach man, was traveling northbound on Ocean Shore Boulevard when he hit the victim, who was on roller skates in a marked crosswalk. The driver failed to yield, hitting the victim, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This crash remains under investigation.
