Orange City, FL - Police are investigating after the driver of a vehicle was killed in a crash involving a dump truck.
Units were called to the intersection of North Volusia Avenue and East Michigan Avenue around 1:20 Wednesday afternoon (October 7th) after receiving reports of a motor vehicle crash. When first responders arrived, they found an overturned dump truck and a passenger vehicle.
The driver of the truck was taken to a hospital in DeLand with non-life threatening injuries, but the driver of the other vehicle, who has been identified by police as 62-year-old Aurelia Henderson of Orange City, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Volusia Avenue at Minnesota Avenue was shut down for about three hours as investigators worked the scene of the crash. The investigation remains open, anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Brian Kibbe at (386) 775-5474.
