Palm Coast, FL - State Troopers are investigating a crash that seriously injured a semi truck driver, and they’re looking for the driver who caused the crash.

Around 4:30 Tuesday morning (Jan. 11) a pickup truck was traveling on I-95 near Matanzas Woods Parkway when they merged into the center lane, causing a semi truck to swerve into another semi truck’s trailer. Both trucks ended up driving off the road and onto the shoulder.

After the crash, the driver of the pickup truck turned off its lights and drove away from the scene. Witnesses and troopers were unable to obtain a license plate for the truck.

Debris from the crash was spread across all three lanes of the highway. One car was unable to avoid the debris and ended up striking some of it. The center and outside lanes of the highway also suffered gouges that led to the roadway to be closed until they could be repaired. The road was reopened a few hours later.

A report from Florida Highway Patrol says one of the semi truck drivers suffered serious injuries, while the other suffered only minor injuries. The driver of the car that struck the debris remained uninjured.

Anyone with information on this crash should contact Florida Highway Patrol Troop G at 904-695-4000.
