Drug Deal Turned Shooting Leaves Victim With Gunshot Wound

DeLand, FL - A failed drug deal turned into a shooting sends one man to the hospital as law enforcement continues to search for the shooter.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) says deputies were called to the 1200 block of Boston Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday (September 23) in reference to a shooting.They located the victim, who sustained a gunshot wound to the chest after an apparent failed drug deal.

The victim was transported to a hospital by a VSO Air One unit with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. He remains in stable condition, according to the sheriff’s office. At this time there is no information on the suspect's appearance or whereabouts.
