PALM COAST - A school bus with students from Old Kings Elementary School was in a collision with a Nissan Sentra Monday afternoon. The incident is reported to have happened shortly after 4:00 pm. It resulted in no injuries to any of the 23 kids on board or the bus driver. The Nissan took on considerably more damage than the school bus, but its driver was also not seriously hurt.

The Nissan, which had its front end smashed up in the collision, deployed its airbags upon impact. The driver was tended to by the Palm Coast Fire Department and Flagler Fire Rescue, but chose not to receive further treatment at the hospital. The incident did not result in lasting closures of Old Kings Rd. The bus was known as the 'Giraffe Bus', as buses in Flagler County are often designated by animal mascots to make them easily identifiable for their student passengers.
