Face Coverings Optional At Ocean Center Graduations

Posted

DeLand, FL - Volusia County Schools (VCS) graduations and rehearsals at the Ocean Center next week will be face-covering optional.  According to VCS, "The decision to make masks optional and voluntary at the upcoming graduation ceremonies was made because the Ocean Center no longer requires masks at its facility. The change applies to all staff, graduates, and their guests."

The ticket allotment is up to eight tickets per graduate with any extra tickets sold at the door at the Ocean Center on the day of each graduation. If you have any other questions about graduation, contact your student's high school.

The ceremonies will be live-streamed then posted on the district website, where you can also find the graduation schedule. They will also be available on the VCS YouTube channel.

As of right now, the optional face-covering policy is only for the graduates at the Ocean Center. VCS is still following the mandatory mask policy but is currently advertising a proposed change in policy that would make face coverings optional at schools and other VCS facilities by mid-June.
