Palm Coast, FL - Members and employees of the Flagler County Sheriff's Office reached into their pockets to the tune of more than $19,000 to benefit children who might not otherwise have a Christmas.

It's the 13th year for the Christmas with a Deputy event and this year, two separate events are scheduled. The first takes place this Friday, December 6, at 5 p.m. at the Palm Coast Walmart. Seventy-five children will take part due to a generous donation from Walmart.

The second event happens on Friday, December 13 and begins at a Palm Coast law office at 5 p.m. Children will receive goody bags and a Santa hat, followed by a law enforcement vehicle convoy with lights and sirens to the Palm Coast Target store for 125 children.

TAG: The convoy and shopping include officers not only from FCSO but also from the FHP, local city police departments and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
