UPDATE (05/08): Further investigation by Florida Highway Patrol finds that a 40-year-old Daytona Beach man was under the trailer, possibly working on it, before the trailer was moved. At some point, a 78-year-old Daytona Beach Shores man entered the driver side of the RV and started the vehicle before driving onto Derbyshire Road. The man then made a right onto LPGA Boulevard and a left turn onto Nova Road before he was flagged down.

Troopers estimate that the victim was dragged for approximately one mile. The investigation continues.

UPDATE: Florida Highway Patrol has confirmed in an email that a pedestrian has died after they were dragged by a trailer.

According to FHP, an RV, pulling a car trailer with a car on it, somehow struck a pedestrian on Linda Lane. The unidentified male pedestrian was then dragged by the trailer until the driver pulled into a parking lot of a Save-A-Lot grocery store off of Nova Road and LPGA Blvd.

The male pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene.

UPDATE: As of 5:25 PM, reports say a body was dragged underneath a trailer by a vehicle that eventually stopped in the parking lot of the Save-A-Lot grocery store off of Nova Road and LPGA Blvd.

Florida Highway Patrol confirms that they are investigating a fatal incident in that area but they have yet to officially confirm that report. More updates to follow at a later time.
