Daytona Beach, FL - A number of motorists are getting windows replaced on their vehicles after someone shot at them while they were driving on I-4 eastbound and I-95 northbound on New Years Day. The Volusia Sheriff's Office is working with Florida Highway Patrol on the investigation.

VSO said the shootings took place from shortly before 6:30 p.m. to about 7 p.m. Six calls came in reporting vehicles shot on I-4 ranging from the Seminole County Line east to I-95 north to the Flagler County line. Though no injuries are reported, the vehicles all had damaged windows.

Detectives interviewed witnesses and/or victims last night (January 1). They indicate a small caliber/pellet/BB gun may be involved, but that is unconfirmed at this time.

In all, ten vehicles were damaged, including several in the Deltona area, DeLand, Daytona Beach and in the Ormond area. Witnesses account vary on some of the details, including the description of the suspect vehicle.

If you were traveling I-4 or I-95 during the shootings and have information to share, contact VSO at 386-248-1777.
