Final Day To Register For Presidential Preference Primary

Posted

DeLand, FL -Today is the last day to register to vote or change your party affiliation for next month’s Presidential Preference Primary on March 17.

Volusia County Supervisor of Elections Lisa Lewis said while today is the last day to register, you can still order a mail-in ballot or change your address online

There are a number of ways to register if you’ve waited until the last minute, including going to the Elections Office. You do need a valid Florida driver’s license or I.D.  You have until midnight tonight to register. You can do so online or at a Volusia County Library branch. Registration forms are available there and a runner will pick those up and get them back to the Volusia Elections Office tonight.

If you’d like a mail-in ballot, there is a deadline to order, which is March 7. Lewis said, "If you've got it out there, please send it in. It has to be received by the time polls close on Election Day, March 17, at 7 p.m. She said more than 65,000 ballots have been mailed out and about 15,000 have been returned at this point.

Early voting takes place from March 7th through the 14th in both Volusia and Flagler counties.
