Find Tax Help At Palm Coast Branch Library

Posted

Palm Coast, FL - Flagler County residents can find help with tax preparation at the Palm Coast Branch Library beginning next Tuesday, February 16 through mid-April.  Appointments are required and CDC guidelines will be observed.

"We are happy to be able to provide space to AARP and the United Way so they can assist our residents,” said Library Director Holly Albanese. “This is a valuable service.”

The United Way Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) provides free tax services to individuals who are eligible for EIC (Earn Income Credit), CTC (Child Tax Credit), persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their tax returns. The annual income limit is $54,000.

Free tax services will be offered on Tuesdays between the hours of 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning February 16 through April 13. The phone number to make an appointment is 386-253-0564.

AARP IRS-certified Tax-Aide volunteers will be at the Palm Coast Branch Library on Thursdays each week beginning March 4. There is no age limit but the assistance is for low to moderate-income individuals and families. Appointments can be made by calling 386-313-4048.

If you're going to do your taxes yourself,  instruction booklets and the 1040 form are available at the Palm Coast Branch Library and the Bunnell Branch Library, 103 E. Moody Boulevard.

“The forms are located on top of the bookcase in front of the reference desk,” Albanese said. “We can also print other forms for 15 cents per page.”
