Five Felony Arrests Happen Due To Technology

Palm Coast, FL - Four juveniles and a 20-year-old man are all charged with Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Resisting an Officer without Violence. The adult, Jah Mari Wiltavious Dayve Parker, is also charged with contributing to the delinquency  of a minor and Burglary of an Unoccupied Conveyance. They were all caught with the use of technology and an area resident who saw something and said something.

Flagler County Sheriff's deputies  located a stolen vehicle in the area of Palm Harbor Parkway and Palm Coast Parkway very early Saturday (January 11). As they approached, the car fled the area. The car made sseveral turns and deputies lost sight of it for a short time. They located it again at the end of Crescent Court South parked in the cul-de-sac with all four doors open. Verbal announcements to turn themselves in by the deputies were ignored.

A short time later, dispatch notified deputies that a resident called to say that a black male in a red hoodie had run across his yard and might be hiding under his pickup truck. Deputies did not find the suspect but the Ring video from the caller showed a person fitting that description.

Almost at the same time, deputies intercepted a black Chevrolet traveling on Crystal Bay Court. Inside the car, they found three teens, two of them age 14 and a 16-year-old.  One of them was recognized as the individual in the video and deputies arrested the three of them.

Parker and another 14-year-old boy were found hiding on a nearby boat in someone's yard. Since they opened the closed zipper door and made entry into the vessel, the owner is pressing charges for burglary.

“These guys thought they could steal a car and get away with it but what they now know is that crime
stops in Flagler County,” Sheriff Rick Staly said. “I want to thank the resident who saw something
suspicious and reported it which allowed our deputies to quickly locate the suspect. These guys
thought they could steal a car in another part of the state and come to Flagler County and then run
from us. But they learned that when you run from the FCSO you just go to jail tired. This was a great
combined effort using guardianship policing, technology, good police work and partnering with our residents. That sad part of all this good work is the broken juvenile justice system, which released
them back to their parents.”

Parker, being the only adult, was taken to the Flagler County Jail for processing. His bond was set at $6,000. He has since bonded out.
