Five Local Schools Rank In Top Third Nationally

Volusia & Flagler Counties, FL - US News and World Report's latest ranking of U.S. High Schools is out and five local schools rate in the top third in the country.

Nationally, more than 23-thousand high schools were evaluated. Volusia County's Spruce Creek has the highest rating, with number 84 in the state of Florida and number 1,567 in the country.

Other Volusia County high schools in the top third are Seabreeze, ranked number 182 in the state, number 3,674 nationally and DeLand at number 229, number 4,935 nationally. Two Flagler County high schools made it to the top third nationally: Matanzas ranked number 215 in the state, number 4,518 nationally and Flagler Palm Coast coming in at number 235 in the state and number 5,055 nationally.

The year's edition has added more schools to be evaluated and the methodology used was revamped.
