South Daytona, FL - Changes are coming to five Votran routes, effective this coming Sunday, June 20, 2021.

Per a press release from Votran:

Minor routing adjustments will be made to the Route 12, including extension of the route and the addition of a bus stop.

Route 24 will transition from fixed-route service to Gold service. Effective June 20, qualifying riders will schedule trips in advance for door-to-door, paratransit service. Riders interested in using this service must apply; to learn more and submit an application, visit www.votran.org/special-services/gold-service.

Route 25, which services Deltona, will be eliminated. The route has been suspended since April 2020.

Route 44 will transition from fixed-route service to FLEX service. The new route, called FLEX 44, will operate as a call first, curb-to-curb service in a dedicated area within New Smyrna Beach. FLEX 44 will operate in the same manner as existing the FLEX 42 and FLEX 43 and will serve riders within a three-quarter mile radius of State Road 44 from downtown New Smyrna Beach to the Walmart just west of Interstate 95.

A first trip inbound will be added to the cross-county Route 60 and the 7:23 p.m. inbound trip will no longer operate on Saturdays.

Votran continuously evaluates operations and implements route adjustments several times annually in an effort to best optimize service. Additionally, for the past several years Votran has provided an annual report to the Volusia County Council addressing current service as well as future service options for consideration and direction.
