Flagler Deputies Investigating Road Rage Shooting

No injuries, investigators seeking public's help

Palm Coast, FL - Flagler County deputies are working a road rage shooting case and they need the public's help

Investigators say that the incident occurred just after seven o'clock last night (February 4th) on the westbound side of Palm Coast Parkway, near Harbor Center Way.

The victim vehicle – a large white cargo-style van – was stopped at the intersection. The suspect, driving a dark-colored passenger vehicle, stopped behind the van. While they were stopped, an occupant exited the suspect vehicle and opened fire on the van. The rear door of the van was struck three times by 9mm projectiles. Both vehicles then fled the scene onto northbound Old Kings Road.

The driver of the van, who was not injured, pulled over and waited for law enforcement to arrive. The suspect vehicle then turned right onto Farragut Drive, where witnesses lost sight of the vehicle.

“This incident could have ended very differently,” said Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly. “Being upset with another driver does not give anyone the right to shoot at another vehicle or potentially take someone’s life. If you see someone driving recklessly, call 9-1-1 instead.”

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office states that the incident appears to be isolated. Investigators are seeking the public's assistance in gathering information due to conflicting statements.
