Palm Coast, FL - A Flagler County man who pleaded guilty to a 2019 indictment that accused him of trafficking a minor for sex will now spend the next three decades behind bars.

49-year-old Sean Farrelly was arrested by the Flagler County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) back in February 2019—when he was 47—and charged him with two counts of sexual crimes against a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Federal Bureau of Investigations later picked up the case the month after his arrest, the same month a grand jury indicted him for sex trafficking of a minor.

Court documents show that Farrelly recruited, enticed, and solicited a 16-year-old child to engage in commercial sex acts, by texting the victim, sending her pictures of money, and providing her with alcohol or marijuana between March 2018 and February 2019. Documents also show that Farrelly paid the minor $30 to $40 each time they had sex.

In several recorded phone calls between Farrelly and the minor, Farrelly admitted to having sex with the victim and said he was worried the calls were being recorded and that he was going to go to jail.

On Tuesday (April 12), United States District Judge Marcia Morales Howard sentenced Farrelly to 30 years in a federal prison. Farrelly was also ordered to serve a 10-year term of supervised release and he will be required register as a sex offender.

"This conviction highlights the incredible job accomplished by our detectives, with Sergeant Frank Gamarra taking the lead," Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said. "The work done to build this case was incredible and commendable."
