Flagler Supervisor Of Elections Addresses Possible Polling Place Issues

Posted

Bunnell, FL - An email sent by Flagler County Supervisor of Elections Kaiti Lenhart to election candidates and political committee leadership states in no uncertain terms, that there is a "zero-tolerance policy related to polling place accessibility or voter intimidation."

In the email, Lenhart said voters are contacting her office with concerns about voter intimidation. She said that during the Primary Election in August, candidates and campaign workers repeatedly violated the no-solicitation zone at the Library during early voting. Lenhart said that she reprimanded them herself, in person, and followed up with an email to all candidates explaining the law.

Lenhart said she spoke with Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly and he encouraged her to contact FCSO immediately for disturbances at any of the polling places.

In closing, Lenhart said that she doesn't " expect to have to call the Sheriff's Office, however, I
certainly will not hesitate if or when needed. My first priority is ensuring the safety of voters and our election workers."
